I have a beautiful office located in a historic building in downtown Brevard, NC. In person sessions are required for couples therapy.

2 / What is the structure of solution focused couples work?

Session 1 (90 minutes): Meet as a couple to discuss the primary issue of concern and your history as a couple. Couples will be asked to complete an online assessment for homework.

Individual Sessions (55 minutes): Meet with each partner individually to learn about their individual family history.

Session 2 (90 minutes): Meet as a couple to discuss road map to resolution. Discuss my observations of problematic communication patterns and major relationship issues that may be causing further concerns. I'll provide psychoeducation on the Gottman Method.

Sessions 3-11 (90 minutes): Six sessions of mediated interventions and skill building to address your specific concerns. Homework will be give as needed.

Session 12 (90 minutes): Graduation. We'll review your progress and areas that you will continue working on after therapy. I will provide referrals as needed to individually therapists.

There is always the option to extend past 12 sessions if needed/desired.

*Individual sessions are billed at a prorated rate of $140 per session & are included in the 12 session package price.

3 / Are we a good fit?

I believe in finding the right therapist for each client and the right client for each therapist. By taking the time to find a "good fit," together we can accelerate growth and allow ourselves to do our best work.

Please consider the following screening checklist that I have prepared for my practice.  It helps me make sure I can logistically do my best work as I juggle parenthood and supporting my clients.

You might be a good fit if:

  • You are looking for regular and consistent appointments.

You might not  be a good fit if:

  • You have high acuity needs upon intake. I am not currently able to accommodate clients who are actively experiencing suicidality or psychosis. I do not have the availability at this time to provide adequate treatment for this level of acuity without sacrificing the care of the client.

  • You are experiencing active domestic violence or abuse in your relationship.

  • Disordered eating, process addiction, or ADHD are your primary concerns.

4/ Do you have any speciality areas?

I consider myself to specialize in relational issues. That might include:

  • Relationship crossroads

  • Life changes and transitions

  • Finding identity and considering values

5 / Do you offer a free consultation?
